Two women were sitting at the table behind me at Starbucks. I’d noticed them when they came in: both in their late thirties; the taller one — Aradney —had dyed her hair burnt umber; and the other, Hazel, wore her salt and pepper in a pony-tail. They were talking quite loudly.

Aradney said, “On Days of Our Lives there was an episode where Dr. Drake Ramoray can be seen in the background.”

Hazel had some information of her own: “There’s a Friends episode where Stefano Dimera can be seen, briefly, in the background inside Central Perk.”
